Waneta Lake, New York. Information and Statistics
Waneta Lake in the heart of Wine Country.
Waneta Lake is nestled in the Finger Lakes Region of New York, USA. It's a quiet lake of mostly older cottages from the 40's. The lake is small and not very deep allowing it to warm in summer and have a solid layer of ice in the winter.

The lake was once chocked with green alge and Eurasian Milfoil, but today the lake is fairly weed free. Waneta is perfect for familys. The shores slope slowly and there are no sharp drop offs.

Lamoka is connected to Waneta by a small canal that will soon be navagable by medium size boats. Lamoka has islands and a lot of shoreline.

There are several rental options on both lakes, but for the most part the cottage owners are multi generational.

It resides in both Schuyler and Steuben Counties.
